Make sure everyone in your Diabetes Care Team is in the new plan network:
- Doctors
- Specialists
- Suppliers, etc.
Confirm all your preventative care is covered:
- Regular blood sugar monitoring
- A1C tests
- Eye exams
- Foot checks
- Other preventative screenings crucial for diabetes management
Review the list of covered medications and their associated costs.
Review cost-sharing details to understand what you will be responsible for:
- What is the upfront cost/premium paid?
- Understand the copays, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts
- Out-of-pocket maximums for different services
Health Insurance change consideration: Prior authorizations are often required and can take time, so ensure you have enough supplies when setting up new insurance.
