Baked Spareribs with Barbecue Sauce 

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 6

  • 2 lb lean pork spareribs
  • Fresh ground pepper to taste
  • Paprika to taste
  • Dry mustard to taste
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1 ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1 ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp oregano½ cup water
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Trim excess fat from ribs. Rub with a mixture of pepper, paprika, and dry mustard. Cut into 6 serving portions and place in a baking pan. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Remove pan from oven and pour off fat. 
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the ribs. Cover and let stand 15 minutes. 
  3. Return ribs to 325-degree oven and bake, covered, for 1 ½ hours. Remove cover, baste, and bake for an additional ½ hour. Spoon off excess fat before serving.
